Abstract

The Generalized Integral Transform Technique (GITT) is reviewed as a hybrid numerical-analytical approach in heat and fluid flow problems, which offers automatic error control schemes and mild increase in computational effort for multidimensional applications. The solution methodology and computational procedure are briefly discussed and illustrative results are presented for mixed convection in channels. The conclusions summarize the research needs in this hvbrid method. 1 Introduction Around the turn of the 1Q* century and along the first half of the 20* century, different analytical approaches were devised for solving partial differential equations that model various engineering applications. Although severely limited to certain classes of problems, almost always as linear or linearized formu
