Abstract

This paper describes the Design Environment, a new concept in data preparation for electromagnetic field computation. Particular emphasis is given to the data structures used. Each phase of the design analysis process is illustrated with a modelled Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT). 1 Introduction The Design Environment [1] is a new concept in data preparation for electromagnetic field computation. Instead of creating a model of one specific device it provides a framework for setting out the design criteria for a class of device and for generating ranges of models within those criteria.
