Labels in general are used to reduce the need for information on a specific subject by introducing common standards. With the help of eco-labels companies can position themselves in the market as environmentally responsible players. Investors can use eco-labels as the basis for their investment decisions. In order to be successful eco-labels have to adhere to certain standards and must be supported by reputable institutions.
