Abstract

The paper reports on the development of an interactive information sys- tem on VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) concentrations in the city of Leeds. The main purpose of the paper is to show how a non-specialist can easily create a small but fully operational information system composed of a graphical user inter- face, a database, data visualisation modules and an information module. The information system presented was designed having in mind its future application as a presentation tool for making data on air pollution available publicly.
