Abstract

This work presents the results of the environmental and urban diagnoses of the industrial zones of the Metropolitan Area of Rio de Janeiro (MARJ). These results are faced with the application of an industrial location model, which takes into account social, economics, environmental, urban and infrastructure factors. The final objective consists in the evaluation of the compatibility of the implanted industrial typologies in relation to the characteristics of the industrial zones, in order to provide elements for the revision of the present metropolitan industrial zoning. 1 Introduction This work is based on a study being carried out since july/98, by COPPE/UFRJ (Coordenaqao dos Programas de Pos Graduagao de Engenharia da Universidade
