Long-term Acid Deposition Modelling for the Italian Area A contribution to subproject GLOREAM G Calori\ G.Brusasca^, G. Finzi* and G ManzP ' Politecnico di Milano, Via Ponzio 34/5, 20133 Milano, Italy Atmospheric models are increasingly used to support the design of rational emission reduction policies to control environmental acidification in Europe. Lagrangian models are especially used to assess the long-term role of different emission sources on acid depositions. In the Italian area, a national scale modelling study has been performed, to detail the European scale analyses at sub-national level, but also to examine the influence of different input data on computed deposition fields and national balances used in policy analyses.
