Abstract

On Some Effective Bott-Type Advective Schemes A contribution to subproject GLOREAM D Syrakov* and M. The description of the advection processes is still a real challenge for tracer dispersion modellers. A lot of methods and schemes have been proposed in the literature but only a few of them are suitable and of practical use. One of the most widely used schemes is that elaborated by Bott (1989). In the Bott scheme, the advective fluxes at the edges of each grid cell are computed utilising the integrated flux concept. They are normalised and then limited by upper and lower values. The scheme produced is conservative and positively definite with small
