Quimicas Univ. Castilla La Mancha. Campus Universitario S/N13071 CiudadReal, Spain Introduction Terrestrial vegetation releases a great variety of reactive organic compounds into the atmosphere. In this sense, the emission of monoterpenes is a major source of organic compounds in the troposphere. Monoterpenes constitute around 11 % of the total global amount of naturally emitted volatile non- methane organic compounds, (Guenther et #/., 1995). The principal monoterpenes detected are oc-pinene, (3-pinene, 2-carene, limonene, sabinene and camphene. The "concentrations" (mixing ratio volumes) measured range between a few ppt and few ppb.
