Abstract

A two dimensional finite element code 2DFEMFAT with capability of density-dependent flow and transport model is used as a simulator in this study for the required numerical experiments of seawater intrusion. Attempts are made to reveal the major effects of hydrological and geological parameters, including hydraulic conductivity, hydraulic gradient and the geophysical condition of sea level, on seawater intrusion in terms of inward and outward flows across the coastal line, and seawater-intrusion length. The conclusion of the current study can provide the decision-
