A two-dimensional (vertical cross section) situation is considered. Entry pressure values are assumed to be perfectly correlated with saturated permeability and thus will be different for the layers. The purpose of this study is to construct an average picture of the medium wherein local-scale heterogeneous regions are replaced with an equivalent macroscale homogeneous medium. In
