Abstract

Overland flood flows in an urban bay area are studied by means of a numer- ical simulation model which comprises a 2-D storm surge model and a 2-D overland inundation flow model. First, actual overland flood flows caused by a storm surge are simulated and the accuracy of the simulation results is examined. Next, the main factors of urbanization, buildings, houses and a sewerage system are taken up, and their influence on the characteristics of inundation flood flows is discussed.
