Abstract

Problems of evaluation of noise level of gear reducers J. Drewniak, J. Tomaszewski Research Development Centre of Gear Reducers and Motor Reducers REDOR, Paderewskiego 11, 43-300 Bielsko-Biala, Poland ABSTRACT In this paper is presented the method of detection of causes of noise generation in gear train. Moreover is proved that a level of loudness of a gear should not be evaluated for a separate, individual gear train in laboratory conditions but in an environment in which investigated system is running. Application in practice of recommendations presented in this paper will make possible to raise a level of environment protection. INTRODUCTION Noiselessness of gear trains, similarly like e.g. fatigue life, is one of the most important factors which determinate their quality. Noise, emitted by a gear reducer, is generated as a result of getting of teeth into mesh, friction of sliding teeth, vibration of air and oil forced out from an inter-teeth space and vibration of gea
