Abstract

Simulations of the Paris heat island have been done for two pollution events, one in winter and one in summer. First, a one-dimensional boundary-layer model has been used to perform sensitivity studies and surface energy budgets. Then, 3d simulations have been performed with the non-hydrostatic model MERCURE, with the same set of physical parameterizations as in the Id simulations, and by using the outputs of the operational model of Meteo-France as large scale forcing. The results show a good agreement with the observed surface temperature field deduced from measurements at different meteorological stations in Paris area. 1 - Introduction The calculation of the urban pollutants concentrations (NOx, 03, CO, SO2 ...) needs, before dispersion computations, a h
