Abstract

The acoustic behaviour of boilers and boiler-burner-systems is a topic of increasing importance in the development of oil- and gas-driven domestic heating devices. On the one hand modem combustion techniques sometimes cause increased noise levels, on the other hand legal and normative regulations on noise emissions of domestic devices are getting stricter. In the context of these matters two topics are of interest: The first one is the analysis of noise emissions of domestic heating devices into the environment and its dependency on mounting, operating conditions and other potential influences. Funded by the EC, a European project team is investigating this subject and developing a standardised measurement method for this kind of test.
