Abstract

A study about the acoustical impact in high traffic urban streets R.Caracausi, V.Franzitta, G.Panno & S.Trapani Department of Energy and Environment Research Palermo University, Italy Abstract Assessing of environmental impact produced throughout the urban areas by the road infrastructures, in phase of realization andor operation, puts the bases for determining suitable strategies to reduce the effects from the noise pollution. In thls study we analyze the problem of noise along high traffic streets belonging to the urban territory of Palermo. The ring road of Palermo exhibits, along its development of about 20 km, characteristics of urban street or motorway axis. In order to acquire information and data adequate for visualizing the two aforesaid aspects we have chosen like measurement sections for the first the turnoffs of PITRE' and DI BLASI Street, for the second those of CALATAFIMI Avenue, LAZIO Street and BELGIO Street.
