Gagliano Engineering Faculty of Catania University: * Applied Physic Institute ^Physical and Chemical Department for Engineering Abstract The condition of city car traffic is one of the most significant parameters that can influence the quality of life and the health of city dwellers according to well-known environmental and economic problems arising from lack of both road facilities and of suited traffic control. Some provisions, such as closure of the historical centre of the city and creation of areas with reduced traffic, can already mean mitigation of car traffic problems on the condition that other areas of the city can present smooth-flowing traffic and lack of queues and traffic jams. It is well known too that crucial points of car traffic are represented by cross-roads and therefore towards these points people
