Abstract

Netherlands Railways is currently introducing computer-controlled route setting based on a route setting scheme (TRACE Process Supervision System). Route management has moved from dispatching alone to the dispatching and supervising of routes. The introduction of TRACE will be completed in the year 2000. Training of process supervisors currently takes place on several different training systems and on the operational TRACE system. For the training of new personnel, it has been necessary to develop a new system with which inexperienced personnel can be trained to become process supervisors. The training requirement is that this should happen without disturbing the operational process.
