Abstract

Modelling and verification of simulation results in computer aided analysis of electric traction systems A. Szelag & L. Mierzejewski Electric Traction Division, Warsaw University of Technology, Poland Abstract Modern electric traction systems require efficient tools for analysis, especially in the area of new technology, when modern technical solutions are being introduced. In order to make the elements of electric traction systems compatible even at the design stage of the project it is required to foresee the possible operating conditions of the locomotives, power supply or signalling equipment. It is especially important when new technology is to be applied on the existing railway line with old-type infrastructure. This case can be observed on Polish State Railways, when main railway lines have were constructed thirty-twenty years ago and now face modernisation requirements for high-speed high-power locomotives. There exists and are widely used different mo
