Abstract

Shearing is one of the key finishing processes in manufacturing and includes various piercing and trimming operations. It is becoming more effective in the production of high value-added products because of fast finishing and excellent dimensional accuracy of the products. In the shearing process the burr or rollover must be minimized in order to improve the quality of the product. The burr size can be minimized by proper selection of process parameters such as die shape, clearance, and other process conditions. In this paper, Cockroft and Latham's criterion is applied to the analysis of ductile
