Abstract

This paper is directed at performing a preliminary evaluation on the potential support that Petri Network could give to the development of logistic systems simulators, mainly for the port analysis. 1 Introduction The study of port systems considers a large amount of variables, that related compound a complex network, added to the constant evolution of the environment, that also disturbs its behaviour; this makes the systems evaluation very complicated through analytic techniques. In the last decades, simulation has had a high development in the study of practical cases, in which we can count on several applications to study port systems. Nowadays, to develop and execute some simulation models it is not necessary to know how to program a computer. There are dedicated languages that can solve specific problem
