Abstract

In this paper it is tried to find an optimal solution for propulsion system of a 19000 DWT, 18 Kn., container ship, among the four different but usual alternatives. Not only technical parameters but also economical aspects, are taken into consideration. By applying the multi-criteria method and choosing the eighteen criteria, general system efficiency of each solution is calculated.
