Abstract

Total elimination of emission of smoke by materials while keeping other safe parameters of their fire hazard is impossible to be attained in practice. Application of fire-proofing substances caused on one hand increase of resistance of materials for taking, but on the other hand increase of intensity of smoke and toxic fumes emission during their thermal decomposition and combustion. There is needed a reasonable compromise between fireproof property of materials and their smoke and toxic fiimes emission. So the solution of the problem of smoke and toxic danger due to fire in the ship's compartments is to be looked for in the methods of monitoring and control of process of fire products propagatio
