The approach presented here permits relation of the method to other numerical techniques, such as Finite Element Method, and more importantly gives an easy and flexible way of introducing and implementing boundary elements. The intro- duction of many useful concepts which are now widely used by Finite Element Method would help us have better understanding of the fundamental principles shared by the two methods and their basic difference, hence the possibility of bet- ter selection, combination and mutual contribution of the two powerful methods in solving some particular problems.
