Abstract

In this paper, the dual reciprocity BEM is applied to the solution of un- steady coupled thermoelasticity. Detailed formulation is presented for the two-dimensional quasi-static coupled thermoelasticity. The time derivatives appearing in the governing differential equations are approximated by the finite difference method, and the unsteady thermoelastic problem is solved by a time-marching scheme from the given initial condition. A new com- puter code is developed, and applied to numerical computation of examples where the analytical solutions are available. Computational aspects of the DRBEM are discussed through comparison of the results obtained. 1 Introduction It is very important to develop a computer code for accurate, efficie
