Abstract

Boundary element analysis of certain structural-acoustic coupling problems and its application Masataka Tanaka, Toshiro Matsumoto & Shoji Oida Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering, Shinshu University, 500 Wakasato, Nagano City, 380-8553 Japan Email: dtanaka@gipwc.shinshu-u.ac.jp 1 Introduction There are noises which come from outside into the rooms through win- dows or structures, and also noises which come out from the rooms into the outside. These noises are conveyed through vibration of the interface structures between the acoustic fields. Transmission or insulation of noise can be investigated through analysis of coupled vibration between the acoustic field and the structure. It is widely used for reduction of noise to enclose the noise source by an appro- priate structure. It is an important subject in engineering to develop an optimal structure to insulate noises. The present paper is concerned with the development of an ac- curate, effici
