Abstract

This papers deals with a mathematical model for gas absorption accompanied by an instanta- neous, irreversible reaction, taking into account a gas phase resistance. In contrast to similar problems dealt with in the literature, the interface concentration of the gas component is varying in time. This concentration and the resulting mass flux must be evaluated from a 2- component diffusion problem with a moving reaction plane. We present a numerical ap- proximation method, in which the coupled problem is reduced to a recurrent system of pairs
