Abstract

The pull-out problem is frequently solved in cracking of composite struc- tures. In this study of lag model the geometry of the problem is simplified in order to use high accuracy boundary element procedure together with Uzawa's algorithm. The results of the boundary element method are com- pared with the results from the finite element method having been applied in [3] to the same problem. The solution brings about some new views to the behavior of the system fiber-matrix in the pull-out problem. 1 Introduction Many papers were concerned with the pull-out problem of fiber-matrix composite materials. The transfer of elastic stresses from the fiber to the matrix was experimentally treated on samples with relatively very small fibers in comparison to the volume of th
