Abstract

An experiment has been developed at COSIPA Steel Plant, in order to measure the roll surface temperature at the secondary cooling The experimental results of the tested stainless steel surface coated roll were in qualitative agreements with those data found in the literature for conventional uncoatead rolls. In addition to the experimental work, a finite difference solution was obtained for the thermal conduction problem throughout the roll.
