Abstract

The objective of this paper is to develop a parallel overlapping mesh tech- nique for the solution of the compressible Euler equations. The overlap- ping mesh technique facilitates the grid generation in complex geometries and is also used as a grid-partitionig algorithm in parallelisation. Blending functions are introduced to allow for multiple overlapping between subdo- mains. The parallel implementation is obtained by using PVM approach. Numerical tests were performed on a 16-processor CRAY CS6400 and on a 2-processor SPARCstation
