Balanced Workload Distribution On A Multi-processor Cluster

This paper presents LoadBalancer, an application that aims to execute compute-intensive tasks over a cluster of machines linked through a local or wide area network. Workpackages are evenly distributed among the computers that compose the virtual machine. The available processors are arranged using a "farm" strategy, in which a master process sends workpackages to the slave processors that are integrated on the cluster. LoadBalancer has been developed for Construcciones Aeronauticas, S. A. (Space Division), under the EU ESPRIT Programme.
