Abstract

The demand for computer scientists who understand problems related to organisations, and who can discuss problems of automation within organisa- tions is rapidly growing. The faculty of mathematics and Computer Science of the Free University of Amsterdam offers a graduate programme (Mas- ters), Bedrijfslnformatica (Business Informatics), to satisfy this demand. After graduation, the people are expected to work in interdisciplinairy teams to solve complex automation problems in organisational context. Social and communicative skills are considered essential for such jobs. The practicum 'information-systems development' is an important part of the programme.
