Abstract

Two-dimensional aerofoil computations are very conveniently handled using a multiblock domain decomposition approach. One such code uses a cell-centred scheme based on the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equations employing the finite volume scheme due to Jameson et a/1. The multiblock nature of the aerofoil code makes it amenable to geometric parallelism and the general purpose FORTRAN harness described by Mushtaq et a/2 provides an ideal environment for the implementation of a parallel code on a network of transputers. 1 Introduction There are four important factors which must be addressed when implementing multiblock code: Geometrical aspects: A high degree of freedom is obtained in the discretisation of complex geometries.
