Abstract

In the paper, a refined hybrid grid system adequate for modelling the real three- dimensional flow and mass transport in the near-field (in the vicinity of water constructional works) is reported. The governing equations of the hybrid grid algorithm in the conservative form are offered. A computational example of the flow field in a 9(f curved river is presented. The tentative results have shown that the hybrid grid method has great potential to form a powerful numerical analysis tool. 1 Hybrid Grid System The refined grid generation and numerical model based on the non-simplified three-dimensional Navier-Stockes equation in the near-field of natural waters is an undeveloped problem in the case of either finite element or finite difference. The main difficulty which places restrictions on the development of more general algo
