Abstract

The singular integral equations method is applied to the contact problem of an elastic-half plane with a circular defect. As a defect, a circular hole is considered and this problem is replaced with the elastic half-plane with a continuous array of dislocations instead of the circular hole. The traction free condition on the surface of the circular hole is reduced into a set of singular integral equations of the Cauchy type.
