Abstract

The p version finite elements are applied for the solution of normal contact problems using augmented Lagrangian technique. It will be assumed, that the displacements and deformations are small, the materials of the contacting bodies are elastic. By using substructurmg technique the unknown variables on the contact area are solved by modified Kalker iterational method. According to the contact optimization problem the pressure distribution will be controlled. In this case the optimization problem is a restricted linear programming problem and for the solution a special iterational algorithm has been developed. Finally, numerical examples will be presented. 1 Introduction It is well known, that the stress state of machine parts are strongly influenced by geometrical shapes and
