Abstract

Probabilistic damage evaluation of components subjected to low cycle fatigue M. Ciccotelli," A. A set of experimental results has been analysed in order to define a probabilistic characterization of the material behaviour. An application of the proposed approach to a CT specimen fatigue analysis has been performed. INTRODUCTION Low cycle fatigue data have always shown considerable scatter. This can be due to many factors; experimental apparatus, measurement procedure, type and dimension of specimens, heating systems, and so on. An attempt to evaluate quantitatively this scatter has been promoted recently in the frame of a VAMAS and EEC-BCR project [1]. In this project 26 laboratories have performed several fatigue tests on steel as well as superalloy spe
