Abstract

Numerical investigations of stable crack growth in CT-specimens of SAE4340 steel G.X. Shan," O. Kolednik,* F.D. The different fracture behaviors in the center and near the side surfaces of the specimen were accounted for by using the plane strain analy- sis for the center part and the plane stress analysis for the surface part. The calculated results were compared with the experimental ones. A satisfactory agreement has been achieved. Further, the influence of the change of the ligament length on the crack growth resistance curve was investigated. It is shown
