Abstract

In the present work, the characteristics of low-speed gaseous flow and heat transfer in micro-channels were examined using the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method with specified pressure boundary condition. The variations of gaseous local pressure, temperature and number density caused by the temperature difference between walls and gas were presented. It was found that the local gas temperature changes only near the entrance and exit of the channel. On the other hand, with the increase of both gaseous compressibility and rarefaction, the pressure distribution along micro-channel becomes more nonlinear.
