Abstract

Numerical simulation of the effects between two adjacent metal strips on the induced currents using characteristic-based method M . M . Abstract In this paper, numerical simulation of the effects between two adjacent metal strips on the induced currents is reported. For simplicity, we consider the problem as two-dimensional and assume that the temporal profile of the current flowing on one metal strip is Gaussian, and that the induced currents on the metal strip are caused by the radiations both propagating via air and reflected from ground plane inside substrate. The corresponding frequency response is also reported. The present study hinges on the application of characteristic-based algorithm to similar simulations in smaller scales such as sub-micro or even near-nano ranges. 1 Introduction Since 1960's, computational techniques play important roles in many areas such as fluid dynamics, mechanics, electromag
