Abstract

PEEC modelling of Debye dispersive dielectrics G. Antonini Department of Electrical Engineering, University of L 'Aquila, Poggio di Roio, 67040 AQ, Italy. Abstract Electromagnetic propagation through linear dispersive dielectric is analyzed using the Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) method. The recursive convolution (RC) is employed to compute the discrete time convolution. The method has been applied to materials exhibiting Debye form of complex permittivity. The accuracy of the proposed approach is demonstrated by several case studies and calculating the signal propagation on a microstrip transmission line on a Debye dielectric substrate. 1 Introduction The propagation through linear dispersive materials has received an increasing interest due to the ever increasing frequency content of signals in modem communication systems. Frequency dependent material properties must be taken into account for an accurate numerical modelling. Many approaches have been presented to incorporate
