Abstract

Comparison of the fatigue behaviour of the semi-elliptical defects contained in plates and tubes using various approaches T. Boukharouba Laboratoire de Mecanique Avancee (LMA), de I'USTHB, Algerie Abstract To predict the evolution in fatigue of the defects of an elliptical or circular form, the researchers transposed on tubes the experimental results carried out on plates by introducing the correction of the membrane. In this work, we propose to show the difference between the : 1. fatigue behaviour of a semi-elliptic defect contained in a tube and a plate, starting from the calculation and test results, 2. results obtained by the use of various approaches being used to strip the data of tests or being of useful calculation, 3. results obtained by using various empirical relations which allow the forecast of the form's evolution for the defect during its propagation in the case of a tube and a plate. This analysis is based on the results o
