Several algorithms are studied, and for each of them mathematical theory is discussed, evidentiating difficulties and skills involved with each method. Evaluation times are shown, and numerical errors are discussed. INTRODUCTION Non-linear analysis is one of the most important tasks in FEM of power devices: in fact, active materials such as iron and permanent magnets exhibit intrinsically non- linear B-H curves.
