Abstract

Three dimensional magnetic field analysis of three-phase gas insulated bus duct K. Misawa," T. Nakata,* N. Takahashi,* K. Fujiwara* o Nissin Electric Co., Ltd., Kyoto 615, Japan & Department of Electrical Engineering, Okayama University, Okayama 700, Japan ABSTRACT When any fault occurs in a gas insulated bus duct used in the gas in- sulated switchgear(CIS), magnetic field outside the duct will change due to the fault current in it, so the internal fault will be detect- able by sensing the change of the magnetic field. In this paper, a three dimensional magnetic field analysis of three-phase bus duct is investigated, and the results are compared with the measurements. Ac- curacy of the analysis has been verified and the method of installing the sensors to obtain high sensitivity is clarified. 1. INTRODUCTION The gas insulated switchgear (GIS) is widely used in recent substations for its high reliability and environmental preservation [1]. In case wh
