Morishige Department of Electrical Engineering, Okayama University, Okayama 700, Japan ABSTRACT The electromagnetic force and torque of verification models proposed by the investigation committee of IEE of Japan are analyzed. Factors affecting the analysis are investigated in order to obtain accurate results. 1. INTRODUCTION In order to compare the accuracy of various methods for calculating electromagnetic force and torque, verification models are proposed by the "Investigation Committee on Software for Calculating Electromagnetic Fields in Rotating Machines" of the IEE of Japan. The proposed models are a plunger, a permanent magnet motor, a linear synchronous motor and a synchronous generator. In this paper, the verification of softwares using the plunger model and the permanent magnet motor model are discussed. Resul
