Abstract

The work presents the results of numerical calculation of the Stress Intensity Factors for an oblique surface breaking crack under rolling contact loads. Various models of the contact constraints have been applied; namely, frictionless contact, friction according to the Amontons model for different values of the friction coefficient, and friction coefficient being a function of normal pressure. The model with saw-like tortuosity along the crack faces, which approximates the real roughness of the crack faces and that with an initial clearance are discussed. 1 Introduction Numerical simulations performed over a few past years have ai
