Abstract

General constitutive equations of linear viscoelasticity of a unidirectional fibrous polymeric composite, modelled by a homogeneous monotropic material, are for- mulated. The viscoelastic model is described by nine independent fractional ex- ponential functions, which take into consideration arbitrary creep processes in the composite. A total number of the viscoelastic constants of the material equals 27, i.e. 9 long-lasting compliance ratios, 9 retardation times, and 9 fractions defining the fractional exponential functions. An iterative procedure for estimation of those constants is developed and tested on a selected composite material. 1 Introduction A unidirectional fibrous composite, composed of an isotropic
