Abstract

As one of the fatigue strength dominant subfactors, the effects of temperature environment on high cycle fatigue were investigated. In this study, rotating bending fatigue tests in high cycle using austempered graphite cast iron (ADI) were carried out at 453 K, that is, below the Ms transformation temperature. Decrease of fatigue strength under that environment was remarkable, and no fatigue limit existed at cyclic numbers of 10% over. 1 Introduction Austempered spheroidal graphite cast iron (ADI) has appeared promising as a new material.
