Abstract

An approach to assess and manage the risk of K.-S. Park & Y.-D. Jo Institute of Gas Safety Technology, Korea Gas Safety Corp., S. Korea Abstract The risk of an LPG filling station has been assessed and risk-reducing measures have been suggested. Hazards of the LPG station are identified through the ETA (Event tree analysis). Consequence analysis is conducted for 3 cases of equivalent leaking diameters in terms of the jet fire, pool fire, VCE (Vapor cloud explosion), and BLEVE (Boiling liquid expanding vapor explosion). Frequency analysis is conducted for the given facility and then further recommendations have been given.
