Abstract

The characteristic curves of centrifugal and axial pumps are essential in the pumping station design to pick out the best choice of the equipment. The best choice of the equipment means to set the number, the type and the speed of pumps, the impeller's diameter, the number of variable speed pumps. Also, in an automatic active pumping station the characteristic curves of the pumps and of the electrical equipment are required to set the optimum distribution flow between the station pumps. By setting the dynamic distribution of the optimum flow is possible to get the best efficiency for the pumping station.
