Abstract

The previously described procedure for estimating emissions from road traffic, on links of the 1400km principal road network of Greater Manchester, is expanded upon and future emissions examined. An example of future emissions based on predictions of growth in road traffic is presented, and exemplified for part of a major commuter route into central Manchester. A procedure for determining the vehicle, and subsequent pollutant capacity for links of the network is presented and discussed with regards to meeting air quality standards. Introduction A procedure for estimating emissions from road vehicles in the Greater Manchester conurbation has previously bee
